Scholarship Programs for Coshocton County:
Miller Scholarship
(Scholarship Application Forms)
The Miller scholarship program provides more than $35,000 per year in
financial aid for Coshocton area residents attending the Coshocton
Campus. Named for its benefactors—long time Coshocton residents
Clarence and Grace Miller—the scholarships are intended to remove
economic barriers to education and help thousands reach their educational
goals. The result is a positive impact on the region's workforce by improving
the overall skill level of that workforce, and keeping talented students
and workers in the area.
The program targets graduating Coshocton area high school seniors, as
well as adults returning to college. At least 20 students benefit from the scholarship each year. Between
eight and twelve scholarships are awarded each quarter to students attending
Central Ohio Technical College or The Ohio State University Newark. Three students are selected from local
high schools to receive $5,000 in scholarship money to attend the college
of their choice.
Career Scholarship
(Scholarship Application Forms)
The Career Scholars Program provides access to higher education for
Coshocton GED graduates who plan to attend either Central Ohio Technical
College or The Ohio State University Newark. The Coshocton Foundation
established the Career Scholars Program to assist Coshocton County
residents in pursuit of higher education opportunities for
non-traditional students.
Ten $500 scholarships will be awarded each year to recipients know as
“Career Scholars”. This new program is eligible to Coshocton County
residents who score an average of 550 in obtaining their GED Diploma.
Applicants must be enrolled at Central Ohio Technical College or The
Ohio State University Newark and submit a brief paper on “Why I want to
be a Career Scholar?”. Applications are administered through COTC/OSUN
and forwarded to The Coshocton Foundation for approval.
The Coshocton Campus is the official GED test site for Coshocton
County. With the collaboration of the ABLE office of Job and Family
Services, they offer assistance to Coshocton residents in testing for a
GED Diploma. For more information about GED testing dates and times,
